We’ve been working during last month on a port of a sub-set of our CK-IDE framework (the one we’ve used for Jungle IDE) to Java. It’s being very complicated because most of the things can’t be just ported, and there’s a lot to do from scratch. This project is currently an internal research project that hopefully will allow us to provide a new generation of text editors that can work in mostly any Desktop platform.
Currently we mainly have a good native integration with Mac Os X, a docking framework that provides similar functionality to the one present in Jungle Ide, a port of our XML-based serializer/deserializer, and part of our internal OS module to handle preferences, etc. all in all this project is very immature and surely won’t see the light anytime soon, but we’re having great fun and we’r getting very encouraging results.
